Neighborhoods in Plano

West Plano


West Plano is conveniently located along the Dallas North Tollway. This is a great place to be if you are seeking ease of transportation - especially if you need fast access to the DFW airport and / or downtown Dallas. It also offers great shopping options, as well as several parks. Plus, for those who are seeking dining and nightlife, West Plano has that, too! Close to the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, the Shops at Legacy, and the Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center.

Central Plano


Located between Preston Road and U.S. Highway 75, just south of State Highway 121, this area offers something for everyone from young professionals to empty nesters. With more than 80 parks and 70 miles of trails to walk, bike, or take a nice long jog, this area is attractive to those who enjoy the outdoors. It also offers the Ridgeview Ranch golf course, and the Legacy Town Center - in addition to a multitude of eating and shopping establishments to try.

East Plano


Just east of U.S. 75, you will find East Plano. This area has been attracting many young families, due in large part to its strong school system. It has also been nationally ranked due to its affordable housing options.

Frisco (East of Preston)


The Frisco area offers a great school system, so here too can be attractive to young families and / or single professionals who have children. It is located near the Independence and Eldorado parkways, so can make for an easy commute, as well.

North Richardson


Technically located in Dallas County, North Richardson is considered to be an older neighborhood. Here you will find nice landscapes and a lower than average crime rate. There are lots of trees and gardens, and a number of nearby parks to enjoy. North Richardson is also relatively close to a number of attractions in both Plano and Dallas.

Highland Village


This community offers some of the area's best access to parks and recreation. It is also considered to be a very pet friendly neighborhood - with more than 60 percent of the residents owning at least one pet. So, if you have a 4-legged friend, bring them along.

Ole Towne


Old Towne in Plano is considered by its residents to be a peaceful area, as well as very walkable - for both people and their pets. The area has a nice variety of cafes and shops, and it will often have local street fairs for residents to enjoy.

University Park
